This is Musa's home coffee, grown on Finca La Montaña, the González family estate in La Mesa, Cundinamarca, at around 6,000 feet. It is farmed by Mario González, grandfather of Musa founder Joaquín González Piñero, and it was his lifelong dedication to coffee that the whole company was built on. Castillo is one of Colombia's foundational varieties, valued less for rarity than for its resilience and reliable depth, bred to thrive across the country's varied microclimates. On the family farm, high altitude, steady rainfall, and mineral-rich spring water shape a clean, well-structured cup. For Musa, this coffee is where everything started, and it remains the foundation of a broader focus on Colombian coffee across its full range.
