Our Origin
Finca La Montaña
1,800 meters above sea level, in the Andean foothills of La Mesa, Cundinamarca — the estate and foundation of Musa.
The estate
Cultivated by the González family for generations, Finca La Montaña stands as the foundation and core estate of Musa. Our production follows a focused estate structure where every stage, from cultivation to post-harvest handling, is managed internally. It is here that we cultivate our core varieties, including Castillo, forming the structural backbone of the Musa portfolio. The farm's management prioritizes consistency and careful selection to ensure each harvest reflects both the character and standards established on the estate.
Finca La Montaña was established by Mario González. His grandson, Joaquín González Piñero, spent his childhood visiting the farm, and over those years absorbed his grandfather's deep passion for the craft. That early exposure to Mario's devotion to coffee shaped Joaquín's own, and years later led him to found Musa.

Finca La Montaña is where Musa began. From there our sourcing reaches five more farms across the Colombian Andes — each one a direct relationship, altitude, soil and hands.

Yellow Rooster Coffee Imports
Yellow Rooster is a specialty green coffee importer founded in 2019 around a simple mission: to create honest, dignifying relationships between people through the trade of specialty coffee. Their model rests on integrity, transparency, and long-term partnerships with producers across the origins they work with. By building lasting relationships at origin rather than one-off transactions, they're able to source a wider and higher-quality range of green coffee while ensuring more value returns to the farmers who grow it.
