our story

Musa Coffee was founded to preserve and elevate the Gonzalez family’s long-standing tradition of coffee cultivation in La Mesa, Cundinamarca. What began as a traditional family farm evolved into a focused estate dedicated to producing exceptional Colombian coffees. From structured estate-grown coffees to carefully selected exotic varieties, every release reflects a deliberate balance between Colombian coffee tradition and technical refinement that reflects its terroir.

Building on this foundation, Musa’s production is anchored in two distinct yet aligned origins. Our work began at Finca La Montaña in La Mesa, where the Gonzalez family established the standards that define our estate model today. As our focus expanded toward rare and high-expression cultivars, we formed a strategic alliance with Argemiro Hernández at Finca La Esperanza in Ibagué, Tolima. Together, these two farms represent the structure and range of Musa.

our FARMS

FINCA LA MONTAÑA

High in the Andean foothills of La Mesa, Cundinamarca, Finca La Montaña rises 1,800 meters above sea level. The region’s elevation, temperate year-round climate, consistent rainfall, and volcanic-influenced soils create exceptional conditions for the cultivation of high-quality Arabica.Cultivated by the Gonzalez family for generations, Finca La Montaña stands as the foundation and core estate of Musa. Our production follows a focused estate structure where every stage, from cultivation to post-harvest handling, is managed internally. It is here that we cultivate our core varieties, including Castillo, forming the structural backbone of the Musa portfolio. The farm’s management prioritizes consistency and careful selection to ensure each harvest reflects both the character and standards established on the estate.

FINCA LA ESPERANZA

Finca La Esperanza is shaped by the convergence of air currents from the Magdalena Valley and the Nevado del Tolima. This natural interaction generates unique luminosity and atmospheric balance, supporting optimal cherry development and varietal expression.Under the leadership of Argemiro Hernández, the farm applies meticulous processing protocols and focuses on exotic cultivars. Geisha lots express refined florality and notes of lemongrass. Bourbon and other varieties reveal layered sweetness with bright citrus and subtle spice characteristics.Through our alliance with Finca La Esperanza, Musa extends its portfolio with carefully produced exotic releases that complement the structured foundation of Finca La Montaña. Each collaboration lot is selected and evaluated under the same quality standards that define our estate, ensuring that expansion never compromises identity or traceability.
